When I realized that Chris made up his entire story about how him and Jessie met, and Jessie just giggled and said, “He makes up this elaborate story in the grocery store, every time,” I knew that they were a couple that has a lot of fun together! Their wedding day exemplified that while all of their family and friends celebrated with them, danced and were all overjoyed for the newlyweds!
Jessie’s dedication to non-profits is adamant and on their wedding day they had their cake and cupcakes made by Sweet Haven Bakery, a bakery created by the H.E.R Shelter and all of it is done through a workforce development program for survivors of domestic violence and homelessness who are starting a new life. Their motto is “the sweet life can be had by all!” I normally do not eat the wedding cake but I had a cupcake because of this and let me tell you, that was the best cupcake I have ever had in my entire life! They are located in Portsmouth, Virginia if you are interested in trying them out for yourself.
Jessie wore a gorgeous gown from Maya Couture, emerald colored heels and the perfect tone of red on her lips! She looked absolutely marvelous, and happiness radiated from her all day long! Emotions came from everyone on their wedding day and when it was time to exchange gifts, Jessie had happy tears when she realized what Chris got her. Greeting cards are Jessie and Chris’ “thing”, so they told me! Jessie opened up a box to find a greeting card for every birthday and special event Chris could think of for their entire lives together and maybe even more! I had tears behind my camera, it was such a sweet and heartfelt moment. Combine that with special moments with both of their Mothers and Jessie’s Grandma, their wedding day will make you feel all of the love that they had for each other, and that everyone had for them that day! Congratulations to Jessie and Chris!
